In 1998’s The Big Lebowski, the word ‘dude’ is used somewhere around 161 times (160 times spoken and once in text). The word ‘man’ is said 147 times, which adds up to be about 1.5 times a minute.
Since the over-usage of these words featured in a Coen brothers movie and were uttered by the great ‘Dude’ himself, they should be considered cool or even sacred.
So the next time someone berates you for having a limited vocabulary that seems to churn in cycles of reused words, don’t let it get you down. You’re not unintelligent, you’re just cool.
Now go pour yourself a white Russian!
